    We were approached to develop the website for Ribcraft Middle East, a new franchise and factory producing the iconic British designed Ribcraft speedboats. Built from the ground up the site includes the development of a vehicle “configurator” – allowing customers to customise their boat before purchase.

    A full bleed background video slideshow greets visitors, linking to news, events, etc. pages. Mobile and desktop users are equally catered for thanks to a responsive design, scaling and cropping content optimised to fit on the most popular screen sizes.

     

    A boat options “configurator” allows customers to fully tailor their desired boat, offering the level of customisation high end automotive customers have become used to. Visitors can select from pre-chosen packages and then add and remove options to get the desired configuration. Costs are calculated as options are selected giving the customer complete control.

     

    The main site content and configurator options can all be edited from a simple to use admin interface, including adding boats, options, options packages, news items and so forth.

    The site is generated from a WordPress backend, statically generated and hosted on AWS S3, with updates pushed when published. The configurator is implemented as a bespoke plugin and the site’s appearance comes from a custom theme.

    ActionZone is a video system developed for client Shoot Systems. The system works much like a regular photo system on a theme park ride but with full HD and 120fps video. Videos and stills are automatically generated and associated with users who can view their footage after the event, as well as accessing it over the internet and sharing it on social media. This provides end users with a richer experience and offers revenue and marketing opportunities to operators.

    The system is in permanent use at sites including adventure parks, zip wires and Olympic diving centres. It has also been deployed on a number of short term projects; including for Foster’s Helluva Tour campaign and the Barclays BST festival in Hyde Park.

    We provide support to Shoot Systems; both for every day usage of the systems, and for continual product enhancement and refinement as per their clients’ needs.

    It utilises a multitude of technologies; including IP cameras, RTP, H.264 encoding/decoding, RFID scanners and QR scanners.

    The core system components are built in C++ with a Python Django stack used for system management and user controls. The system runs on both Linux and Windows. Additionally, incorporated within this are a number of HTTP/REST interfaces as well as the consumption of existing HTTP interfaces.

    We worked with humanLearning to build their enterprise cloud platform and app, before handing over to an in-house development team. The platform and app allow the publishing and sharing of video, audio and textual information. There are search capabilities, rankings and extensive metadata associated with each publication.

     

     

    The platform extensively utilises AWS compute and storage services using Python, SQL databases and a native iOS app. The platform presents a HTTP REST API to clients and includes support for MP4 containers and h.264 video. Automated tests were run through Jenkins and monitoring performed using Nagios.

    Agility required a website capable of handling global traffic, with the potential for large spikes in demand, for their Saeitta performance electric motorbike. This was required without the high up front costs and running costs associated with such a system. This requirement was satisfied using cloud systems from Amazon AWS and the site was built based on visual designs supplied by Agility.

    After developing the initial site an e-commerce system was built and integrated into the existing site. This allowed customers to customise their bike and make deposits deposits and the complete transaction was completed by sales staff. Although hosted separately the ecommerce system integrated seamlessly with the main site, sharing the main site appearance.

    The main site was built using Amazon AWS S3, Cloudfront and Route 53. The e-commerce system utilised the Shopify platform to simplify construction and support requirements.

    A Shopify theme was generated by the same build tools as the main site, sharing the same appearance and allowing ease of modifications to the site as requirements changed. End users were unaware of the split hosting and experienced a seamless integration.

    Supermarketsarah.com is an online retail platform and showcase for stylists and makers. The site also includes a blog for Super Market Sarah’s work. We’ve helped her extend the functionality of the site and improve on what had already been built.

    The site is now integrated with PayPal for the purpose of tracking transactions. This data is used to produce invoicing facilities for seller accounts. The invoicing system includes the ability to set global and custom price plans, easing management of price changes. To reduce the support requirements for sellers a basic help page system was developed. Seller pages can include accompanying help information editable by the website support team.

    As well as adding functionality the site’s security was hardened against basic vulnerabilities. The new functionality brought in modern coding practices to the system allowing for easier future feature addition, whilst still running the original features.

    The WordPress blog’s theme was also changed and the WordPress system updated.

    The non-structured isolated scripts were bridged to the new code which utilises the PHP Symfony 2 framework. A number of inefficiencies were removed from the database. The WordPress based blog was moved to a separate database instance and all components, plugins and themes updated.

    Developed for ShootSystems Walkabout is an Android app that uses QR codes to connect users with photos taken from an Android camera. Photos can then be downloaded and shared or printed locally. Overlays are applied to images on the Android device itself before being sent to a local station or uploaded to the web.

    The system has been been used by a number of brands for promotional purposes and for direct revenue purpose at numerous events.

     

     

    Walkabout is a native Android app, using the camera API. The system connects to a HTTP based API to upload images and session information.
